Data Centers: An Opportunity for Spain

In the current context, marked by global uncertainty and the advance of the digital economy, Spain has an opportunity to develop data centers. This was made clear at the recent ENERGYEAR Spain conference, which brought together leading figures in the sector on March 26 in Madrid.

During his participation in the panel The new energy architecture of the data center, the CEO of IGNIS Projects, Manuel González Ortega, emphasized that the company has grid connection permits in strategic locations and a fully integrated energy platform. As he highlighted, IGNIS is working to provide a multi-source energy solution: connection to the transmission grid and self-consumption which, by combining solar power and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), can cover a large part of its energy needs in a renewable way. In this model, the data center and the generator form a microgrid that offers flexibility and stability to the system.
